CHIJ Toa Payoh, Friday, March 30, 2012 — Clementi Town Secondary grabbed a spot in Round 2 at Dunman Secondary’s expense with a 31-26 victory in the National B Division Netball Championship.
Both Clementi Town and Dunman had lost their matches against CHIJ Secondary (Toa Payoh) and the winner of this game would move on to Round 2.
Clementi Town started strongly by gaining a precious lead in the opening minutes of the game as the ball found their domineering shooter inside the goal circle easily. The same could not be said for Dunman as they had to work hard to just feed the ball to one of their shooters.
With Clementi Town’s defender standing at above 1.8m, it was no easy feat for Dunman to put in a shot.
There were some changes in the line up for Clementi Town in the second quarter as Dunman threatened to take the lead back from them. However, all the hard work from Dunman could not bring down the Clementi Town giants.
Clementi Town’s win meant all four West Zone teams made it through to Round 2. The other teams are Nan Hua High, Nanyang Girls’ High and Bukit Panjang Government High.
