Kuala Lumpur, Wednesday, December 28, 2011 — The Singapore LionsXII drew 1-1 with PKNS FC in their second pre-season friendly. PKNS won promotion to the 2012 Malaysian Super League (MSL) after winning the second-tier Malaysian Premier League in 2011.
The score was 0-0 at half time.
Khairul Nizam scored the opening goal for the LionsXII in the 52nd minute on a soggy pitch after a good build up play involving Agu Casmir but PKNS replied almost immediately through a penalty. LionsXII central defender Baihakki Khaizan handled the ball unintentionally and PKNS new signing Michael Nicoise equalised from the penalty spot.
The LionsXII lost 2-3 to Johor FA last Saturday in their first pre-season game and have one more friendly on Friday, December 30th, against ATM, the Malaysian Armed Forces team.
The Singapore team open their Malaysian Super League campaign against Kelantan on January 10th at the Jalan Besar Stadium.
