Come July this year, the Firefly Night Race — a cycling expedition by passionate cyclists from all walks of life — will mark its second edition by covering a 270km route over 12 hours in the challenging terrain of East Malaysia, Sabah.

Lyndon Yeo will lead a team of 20 cyclists that will cycle along the coastal roads of Sabah, starting
from Klias and into the tip of Borneo.

The Firefly Night Race — inspired by the insects’ goal of devoting every night of their short adult lives to the art of survival —aims to provide talented individuals an opportunity to realise their dreams and to have that light in them shared with the rest of the world.

The team hopes to continue to garner the support of individuals, and corporations who share the same aspirations, to pledge monies.

The proceeds will go towards Sing Out Asia and the Business Times Budding Artists Fund.

Last year, Firefly Night Race I was successfully completed by nine passionate cyclists who challenged a 1,000km route over 100 hours. The team cycled from Singapore through Mersing, Kuantan, Kuala Terengganu and Kota Bahru, and into the border town of Sungai Golok in Thailand.
