Gary won the 200m in a time of 21.64 seconds. Gary’s time was just slightly over two tenths of a second off Poh Seng Song’s championship record of 21.40 seconds set in 2004. Fabian Lim (NTU) scored a major upset in the men’s high jump, beating championship record holder, Cai Yaoqin of Singapore Institute of Management (SIM). Fabian posted a clearance of 1.93m while Yaoqin, better known as “Ronnie” in the track and field circle, could only manage 1.90m for joint-second position with Daryl Lee of Nanyang Polytechnic.
