Helsinki, Finland, Wednesday, 28 July, 2010 – Local bowlers Daphne Tan Shi Jing and New Hui Fen bagged the silver medal in the girls’ doubles event at the World Youth Championships. The pair knocked down a total of 473 pins.

The gold medal went to Laura Fonnegra and Maria Jose Rodriguez of Colombia who had a total of 481 pinfalls. Singapore’s second pair, Shayna Ng and Jazreel Tan, took home the bronze medal with a total of 392 pinfalls.

In the boys’ singles event, Basil Low finished in 8th position with 1,311 pinfalls. Adam Cairns of England won the gold medal. Australian bowler Sam Cooley took home the silver medal while Korea and Canada both bagged the bronze medal.
