Pattaya, Thailand, Saturday, July 10, 2010 — Singapore sailor Kimberly Lim, 13, from Tanjong Katong Girls’ School, clinched the top prize at the 2010 International Optimist Dinghy Association Asian Sailing Championship in Pattaya, Thailand yesterday.

The results at the top were very close and the final positions were only determined as the last flight completed their race.

Kimberly was tied on points with Carlos Robles Lorente of Spain but she won won the event by having more first place scores. In third place was Muhamad Faizal Norizan, Malaysia.

The Singapore team also clinched a silver medal in the team racing event, behind Thailand in first place and ahead of Malaysia in third.
