St Andrew's Junior College, Friday, March 26, 2010 - Forward Arshvyn Prakas scored two goals as Innova Junior College (IJC) clinched their second successive win in as many matches for a 3-1 comeback victory over National Junior College (NJC) in the group stage of the A Division Football Championship.

The match was however not smooth sailing for IJC as NJC appeared to show more desire in the initial challenges.

The hard work paid off on 13 minutes when IJC goalkeeper Zubair B Mohd Ilyas uncharacteristically dropped a long punt forward from the IJC defence, Cao Luu Quang was at the right place at the right time to slot in an easy finish into an empty goal for NJC.

That goal appeared to wake IJC up as they began to string their passes together in midfield.

Firstly on 15 minutes IJC midfielder John Kathiresh Joshua volleyed over the bar from three yards out from a corner. Then three minutes later, Lee Sueng Sub's effort from 30 yards out just shaved the right-hand post.

The pressure finally paid off on 23 minutes as déjà vu struck NJC this time round. Goalkeeper Daniel Zheng dropped the ball from a freekick from midfield, and the ball fell kindly into the path of IJC forward Arshvyn Prakas who came sliding in to slot the ball into an empty goal.

Eight minutes later, IJC scored their second.

A corner from the right was not cleared by the NJC defence, and Sueng Sub proceeded to volley the ball back into the penalty area for Mohd Arif B Muhd Khairul Tan who wasted no time in rushing in to slide in a finish under Daniel's left arm and into the bottom right corner of the goal.

The second half continued in the same tempo as NJC struggled to hold on to possession of the ball and create any significant opportunities in front of goal.

Arshvyn looked to have scored on 53 minutes when he lobbed the ball over Daniel from inside the box and into the goal, but the referee disallowed the goal because goalscorer Arif was in an offside position.

However Arshvyn was not to be denied six minutes later. After a ball in from the left, he produced a superb feint to get past the defender on his blind side. With that extra yard created, he found space to produce a fierce right-footed shot which Daniel got a hand to but could not stop from going into the bottom left corner.

Arshvyn could have added a fourth goal on 65 minutes. A great cross-field ball from the right from John Kathiresh Joshua released him free into the penalty area. However this time round Daniel got down well to narrow the angle and foiled Arshvyn's fierce attempt.

That marked the last piece of significant action as IJC closed out on a 3-1 victory which pushed them to pole position in Group C with six points from two games, with Anderson Junior College just behind on three points having played a game less.
