Woodlands Stadium, Thursday, March 18, 2010 - Woodlands Wellington’s winless streak continued as they fell to Sengkang Punggol 1-0 at home.

After a 3-1 beating by the Singapore Armed Forces FC earlier in the week, Sengkang Punggol were looking to notch some points against Woodlands, who were crushed by Etoile FC 4-0 last Thursday.

An early goal by Jordan Webb (Sengkang Punggol #2) in the 5th minute allowed the Dolphins to take the lead. However, they were reduced to 10 men when defender Shahir Hamzah (#6) picked up his second yellow card in the 37th minute. Shahir had been booked earlier in the 20th minute.

However, the Rams were unable to capitalize on their advantage, and eventually saw Sengkang Punggol take the match.

Woodlands Wellington are now at the bottom of the table, with two points from four matches played. They earned their points when they drew 2-2 with the Young Lions in the S.League season opener match, and when they played to a nil-nil draw with Beijing Guoan Talent FC.

Sengkang Punggol are now fourth in the table with seven points from five matches played.

Sengkang Punggol will play their next match against Home United on Friday, March 26 at the Jalan Besar Stadium. Woodlands Wellington, will try to break out of their luckless form when they play Home United on Monday, March 22 at the Woodlands Stadium.
