CCAB, Friday, February 5, 2010 - Singapore Chinese Girls’ School (SCGS) had their biggest win of their B Division South Zone basketball campaign this year when they thumped Mayflower Secondary School 92-16 in a second round Group Y encounter.

The gulf between the two teams was evident right from tip-off, as SCGS ran off 16 unanswered points while forcing countless turnovers from the Mayflower team, which simply could not break the full court trap that their opponents sprang at them.

Gladys Molino led SCGS with 26 points, most of it coming on breakaway lay ups, while vice-captain Georgia May Goh added 16 points. The school reached the semi-finals of last year's South Zone championships.

SCGS will ensure another final-four showing with a win in their next game against Yuying Secondary School on Wednesday, February 10, while Mayflower will look to bounce back with a victory against the same opponents, with the match coming two days earlier on Monday. Both games will tip off at 1530 hrs.
