Story by Colin Tung

As a precursor to Run NUS this year, Mok Ying Ren, 2007 SEA Games triathlon champion and the top local runner at the Army Half Marathon last Sunday, will be conducting a running clinic entitled The Science Behind Training And How We Can Run Faster. C. Kunalan, 1964 and 1968 Olympian and former national record holder in the century sprint, is the second guest speaker.

Mok will be reaching into his treasure trove of experience competing at the highest levels in the region in sharing practical tips to running fast while Mr Kunalan, an assistant professor currently at the National Institute of Education (NIE), will be dishing out his pearls of wisdom on the topic of planning training and the science behind cardiovascular fitness.

There are not many who are more qualified than the pair who can share about running at the elite level. So, for those of you who are working to bring your running up a notch, why not do it with the wisdom of Mok Ying Ren and C. Kunalan?

The clinic will be held on Saturday, August 22, at the NUS Science faculty Lecture Theatre 26 from 2.00pm to 4.00pm. Interested participants to the clinic should reply to alphantomlee@hotmail.com stating the number attending and whether you are an NUS student. You are also to indicate whether you would be taking part in the recce run of the race route.

Note: Registration for the Run NUS is closed but the clinic is still open for registration.
