Kiel, Germany, June 25, 2009 – The elite in the world of sailing are together for the 127-year-old Kieler Woche event in Kiel, Germany from 20 to 28 June 2009.

Amongst the best sailors in the world, our local sailors have done well to do Singapore proud at the event.

Leonard Ong came in fourth in the RS:X windsurfing youth event, missing podium position by just 4 points. This is the first time a Singaporean has fared so well in a windsurfing class at the event which is also an ISAF Grade 1 event.

Colin Cheng, also did well with two top ten positions and overall 26th place out of 153 competitors in his maiden participation in an ISAF Grade 1 Laser Standard event.

Flying the Singapore flag in the Laser Radial event, Elizabeth Yin and Victoria Chan, also fared well to both score top ten positions in some races and overall 22nd and 25th places respectively out of 75 boats.
