Chief of Defence Force Desmond Kuek leads service chiefs at Singapore Biathlon

East Coast Park, Saturday, March 7, 2009 – Chief of Defence Force Lieutenant-General Desmond Kuek, Chief of Army Major-General Neo Kian Hong and Chief of Navy Rear-Admiral Chew Men Leong took part in the Singapore Biathlon at East Coast Park this weekend.

The Republic of Singapore Navy organises the Singapore Biathlon while the Air Force puts on the Paya Lebar Runway Cycling event. The Army runs the annual Army Half Marathon.

LG Kuek completed the race in a time of 1 hour 43 minutes 14 seconds. This was about seven minutes slower than his time last year.

Last year, MG Neo finished a mere eight seconds behind RADM Chew with a time of 1:48:15. But this year, he finished his swim and race ahead of RADM Chew, coming in with a timing of 1:58:25. RADM Chew came in just over the 2-hour mark, with a time of 2:00:11. © Red Sports
