Over 100 competitors from all over Singapore will head to the SAF Yacht Club (SAFYC) this weekend from December 5th to 7th to compete in the 32nd Singapore Laser Open and 6th SAFYC Byte Championship.

Winners who have captured these titles and engraved their names on the champion trophies have included Calvin Lim Zhi Yang who have gone on to win world titles for Singapore in the World Byte Championship and Stanley Tan, who was one of the Laser Class competitors at the 2004 Olympic Games, Athens.

The final event in the season of national ranking regattas, national sailors will be looking to challenge each other in local waters, as well as to improve their standing in the national rankings. Participants who have already registered include National Sailors Maximilan Soh (Laser), Terence Choo (Byte) and Germaine Teo (Byte).

Meanwhile, sailors outside of the national ranks will also have an opportunity to gain competitive experience by racing against the tough competitors expected throughout the regatta.
