Singapore Island Country Club, Friday, November 28, 2008 – Day one of the Lexus Cup ended with Team Asia and Team International tied with three wins each after an exciting day in the scorching sun at the Singapore Island Country Club.

Both Captains failed to pick up points in their respective matches with Se Ri's game the only one to go all the way to the 18th hole against Team International vice-captain Paula Creamer and Nicole Castrale.

"It's hard to focus on your game when you're focusing on your group. At the same time, I'm not happy about losing it. It happened. I tried to do well, there's two days to go. We're happy with the results. We have a great team," said Pak in the post-match press conference.

Song Hee Kim and Inbee Park - two rookies for Team Asia got the first points on the board after overcoming Helen Alfredsson and Christina Kim.

"They made a lot of good putts. On the par three when we had the chance to make one, we made it good and they hit it even better," said Alfredsson after they ended on the 17th green.

The teams took turns in claiming the vital points with the Australian partnership of Katherine Hull and Nikki Campbell winning 3&1 against Japan's Namika Omata and Mayumi Shimomura.

Playing in her third Lexus Cup, Campbell said, "Katherine was a really good partner and we had fun out there which I think is really important."

They will pair up again tomorrow in a bid to retain their winning form but this time will play a fourball format against Yani Tseng and Omata.

There are a number of changes in the line-up for tomorrow's matches including Annika Sorenstam opting to play with Suzann Pettersen, and Se Ri Pak partnering Seon Hwa Lee who remains unbeaten after defeating Natalie Gulbis and Suzann Pettersen 2&1 with Tseng alongside her today.

Last year's event at the Vines Resort and Country Club saw Team International were trailing 6-0 after day one so today's performance is very encouraging for Annika and her team. She said, "Yeah, much better than last year. Overall we are very pleased with the performance. There were some great matches out there, some great golf overall. We had some teams that clicked very well which was fun to see. It was a good atmosphere out there and I'm very proud of the team. It was way better than last year."
