Not getting enough basketball games? Try out the Community Basketball League. (Photo © Leslie Tan/Red Sports)

A generous working adult with a heart has put his money where his mouth is and stumped up money for basketballers to participate in the Community Basketball League (CBL), a two-year-old league that organises league competitions for boys and girls teams for U-12s, U-14s, U-16s and U-20s. The sponsorship is worth up to $350 per team.

The aim of the CBL is to encourage playing opportunities for interested basketballers and teams can come from schools or neighbourhood teams. To ensure that the games are competitive, teams are organized into leagues of 4 - 6 teams and play each other in a round robin format competition, followed by playoffs on May 11 & 25, 2008.

Team registration fee is $100 and teams share the costs for referees and have to organize their own court.

If you’re interested in participating, you can download the form and submit it by Sunday to the contact person listed in the form.
