Nothing like a little perspective keeps us grounded. What am I talking about? Well, Catholic High, the three-time B Division National Champions are currently on a tour of Taiwan. Said Chester Leow, the captain of this year’s B Division championship team: “Even though this is the second time I am here in Taiwan, each visit is a new experience for me. During the match against Neng Ren, I finally had an experience of total domination by the other team. The opponent were superior in every way, even the centers of the team could outrun and outjump our forwards. However, they were humble and were willing to learn from us. I have learnt a lot from them and look forward to playing against them next year!”
In the second week of November, the Philippines SEA Games-bound national basketball team were in town to play four games. One game was against the Singapore National team. Singapore were beaten 42-90. At half-time the Filipinos led 42-18. By the end of the third quarter, 63-13. The next day, they got out of bed and stopped the Singapore Slingers 100-93.
