Ang Mo Kio Secondary Team 1 (AMK1) won their fourth consecutive game of the tournament with their 25-11, 25-6 thrashing of Guangyang Secondary (GYSS).

AMK1 had a shaky start as the first two points were taken by GYSS. AMK1 slowly gained momentum as they slowly organised attacks against GYSS. Though they managed to take the lead, several blunders caused the team to lose precious points, allowing GYSS to catch up with a few well placed shots.

The AMK1 spikers did not let their guard down as they pounded the GYSS side with their thunderous spikes, eventually taking the set 25-11.

The second set saw AMK1 extend their dominance. Not even GYSS’ captain Daryl Lee could close the gap with his attacks. Added on to that, several technical faults committed by the GYSS players sealed their fate as AMK1 took the set 25-6, giving them a 2-0 win to emerge champion of Group D.

AMK1 are now into the next round. They will face St Hilda’s Sec (F), St Hilda’s Sec (K), Shuqun Sec, Xinmin Sec (Team2) and Sembawang Sec in the next round. Good Luck!
