Lee Yan Fen of Raffles Junior College beat out a competitive field of runners to capture the gold in 13.13s.

Running in Lane Seven, the former St Nicholas Girls’ student bettered her personal best of 13.16s. "I wasn’t expecting much but I had a good start," said a smiling Yan Fen who was surrounded by admiring friends after the race. Yan Fen beat out the race favourite, Lim Shanru of Hwa Chong Institution, who was running in Lane Four.

Shanru finished second in 13.16s while Ang Yu Jia of National Junior College was third in 13.23s.
