After one week of intense competition, both the Junior Boys and Girls teams of Pasir Ris Primary emerged as Champions of the East Zone.

The Junior Girls team beat Haig Girls, Chongzheng, Park View and Tanjong Katong in their group to emerge as champions while the Junior Boys overcame Casuarina Primary 1-0 on penalties to complete the double for their school.

More than 90% of the players only picked up the sport at the beginning of the year and 2006 was the first year that Pasir Ris participated at the zonal and national level.

Training once a week on average, the players also did well because of hockey’s similarity to floorball, a sport they were already familiar with.

Congratulations, Pasir Ris Primary!
