For ‘donkey’ years, there was no soccer in St. Andrew’s. This year the team qualified for the quarter-finals. Not bad really for a novice team.

Fairfield scored first before half time from a high shot from quite a distance away into Saints goal. Perhaps Saints goal-keeper was to eager and came out too far forward.

In the first half, Fairfield faced the strong glaring sun which made it very difficult for the goalkeeper to ‘see’ the flight of the ball.
Blinded so to say. Unfortunately, Saints did not take advantage of this and did not try some long high shots. When they did in the second half, they were rewarded with a goal from a free-kick. After scoring the goal, the Saints scorer took off his jersey and ran to the corner flag and his teammates jumped all over him.

There was lots of ‘wayang’ (acting or copycats of the professional games like lying on the ground in agony, etc.).

Editor: What’s your name, no.10? 🙂
