2014 Incheon Asian Games

Incheon, Monday, September 22, 2014 — Tao Li clocked a timing of 26.28 seconds in the women’s 50 metre butterfly final to clinch Singapore’s first silver medal at the Incheon Asian Games.

The gold medal was won by China’s Lu Ying, who finished with a new Games record of 25.83 seconds. Lu’s teammate, Liu Lan, took the bronze medal with a timing of 26.72 seconds.

Tao’s timing of 26.28 seconds bettered her timing in the heats, where she clocked 26.46 seconds to lead the field. Tao had previously won two consecutive gold medals in the 2006 and 2010 Asian Games.
