Choa Chu Kang Sports Stadium, Wednesday, April 16, 2014 — Singapore Sports School finished first in the B Division girls’ 4x100m relay final at the 55th National Schools Track and Field Championships to win their ninth consecutive sprint relay title.

They ran a fast time of 49.06 seconds, finishing 2.67 seconds ahead of second-placed Nanyang Girls’ High. CHIJ St. Nicholas Girls’ were third in 51.90 seconds.

Singapore Sports School had a clear lead by the time their second runner took the baton. Although their second and third changeovers were far from ideal, SSP still finished with the fifth fastest time in this event and division in the history of the championships.

Their final runner, Nur Izlyn said, “It was good. I was looking at the time when I was near the finishing line.”

Singapore Sports School hold the championship record of 48.22 seconds set in 2011. SSP own the top 16 girls’ B Division 4x100m relay times.
