Sengkang Hockey Stadium, Monday, April 14, 2014 — Crescent Girls’ School (CGS) overcame Sengkang Secondary School (SKS) 3–0 to win the National B Division Girls’ Hockey Championship.

The first half ended with no goals scored. Crescent Girls’ managed three quick goals in the second half to seal victory.

Arfynna Shakira (#21), who scored the final goal for Crescent Girls’, said, “The cheering from the supporters in the stands was really helpful. I’m thankful for those who came down today to support our team.”

When enquired about what made the Crescentian hockey team special, she said, “I think we have a strong fighting spirit within the team, and we fought much harder than last year.” Crescent Girls’ lost the final in 2013.

Seng Kang finished fifth in 2013 and their teacher-in-charge attributed the huge improvement to the influx of C Division players who joined the B Division team this year.
