Nanyang Junior College, Monday, April 14, 2014 — Anglo-Chinese School (Independent) drew 2–2 with Catholic Junior College (CJC) in their final game of the National A Division Football Championship. Both teams are out of contention for Round 2.

It was the first draw for ACS(I) in Group A and they finished with a 1–1–3 win-draw-loss record. The draw allowed CJC to draw level on points with ACS(I) with a final game to play. CJC currently have a 1–1–2 record.

ACS(I) player Benedict Chua (#10) scored a brace while Cavyn Chong (#18) and Allen Woo (#4) of CJC scored a goal each.

Cavyn Chong (CJC #18) scored the opening goal of the game but Benedict Chua (ACSI #10) equalised with a headed goal after they earned themselves a corner kick.

ACS(I) playmaker Yusof Najim (#8), who proved difficult to mark for CJC, made a couple of incisive passes to his strikers but the CJC defenders were able to clear.

The second half saw CJC goalkeeper Joseph Santino (CJC #1) clumsily handle the ball outside the box while fouling Xu Chen (#19), who was making a run down the right to receive a lofted pass. The resulting ACS(I) penalty was missed as the shot went straight into the face of the keeper but Benedict Chua (ACSI #10) controlled the rebounding ball to simply slot it into the bottom left of the goal for a 2–1 lead.

CJC drew level when Dominique Lau’s (CJC #12) cross in from the left was met by the unmarked Allen Woo (CJC #4) to head into the net.

ACS(I) had a chance to win the game when a one-two in the penalty area saw the ball roll into the path of Koh Tun Lee (ACSI #18) for a one-on-one with goalkeeper Joseph Santino (CJC #1). However, Tun Lee missed and both sides settled for a draw at full time.
