Millennia Institute, Friday, April 26, 2013 — Millennia Institute (MI) beat Serangoon Junior College (SRJC) 5–1 in the first round of the National A Division Girls’ Football Championship.

Led by captain, Nazar, MI managed to attain a 4–0 lead by half-time. MI began their scoring spree just five minutes into the game when an unmarked Azu calmly placed the ball into the back of the net.

Azu’s goal set the tone for the first half. Within five minutes of the first goal, MI doubled their lead through striker Serena. Serena managed to double her goal tally in the match later in the first half with a shot past SRJC’s keeper. With five minutes left on the clock, MI continued to dominate as winger Sarah Chu scored the fourth goal of the half.

SRJC started the second half better than they did in the first. Their efforts were rewarded in the 50th minute when #19 of SRJC powered a ball past the MI keeper. Undeterred by their temporary setback, MI continued attacking. With 10 minutes left in play, Sarah of MI scored her second goal of the match to seal the 5–1 win.
