Choa Chu Kang Sports Complex, Wednesday, April 17, 2013 — Lynette Goh of Hwa Chong Institution won the A Division 100m gold in a time of 12.51 seconds at the 54th National Schools Track and Field Championships. This was Lynette’s second medal, after she bagged a gold in the 200m final with a 26.13s effort.

Coming in second was Jannah Wong of Raffles Institution, who was 0.11s behind in 12.65s. This was Jannah’s second medal, after having won the A Division 100m hurdles gold.

Rachel Koh of Raffles Institution was third in 13.02s. This was her second bronze medal, after picking up her first in the A Division 200m final.

The record for the A Division Girls’ 100m is 12.37s and it was set by Tan Shieh Li, then of Anglo-Chinese Junior College, in 1999.

Jannah said: “It was a good run for me as I had a new personal best. But it could have been better if I had managed to maintain all the way.”

Her teammate, Rachel, also felt that she should have maintained more towards the end of the race. “It was an okay race. I did my best,” said Rachel.

The RI duo both agreed that Lynette proved to be a good contender for first place.
