Yio Chu Kang Sports Hall, Wednesday, May 23, 2012 — Victoria Junior College (VJC) qualified for the final of the National A Division Girls’ Floorball Championship for only the second time in six years when they beat Yishun Junior College (YJC) 3-1 in a penalty shootout.

The teams were tied 4-4 after the regulation three periods.

VJC led 2-0 after the first period but YJC stormed back to tie it up 2-2 by the end of the second period.

YJC then took the lead for the first time in the match before VJC came back to equalise with a penalty. Another VJC penalty gave them the lead again but YJC equalised to force the penalty shootout.

There was late drama when VJC thought they scored a buzzer-beating winner but it was disallowed because the officials declared that the goal was scored after the buzzer went off.

In the penalty shootout, Shaylene Ong (#1) saved the first YJC penalty while her teammates scored the first two. Natalia Wee (#19) then scored the decisive third penalty to send VJC through to the final.

In the other semi-final, Temasek Junior College beat River Valley High 2-1.
