Republic Polytechnic, Monday, April 30, 2012 — NUS High beat Victoria Junior College (VJC) 40-25 to clinch a place in Round 2 of the National A Division Netball Championship.

NUS High qualified as runners-up of Group C behind Hwa Chong Institution (HCI) who remain undefeated. NUS High finished Round 1 with a 3-1 win-loss record. Their sole loss came in a 69-30 defeat by HCI.

VJC, who qualified for Round 2 in 2011, miss out, despite winning their final game against Yishun Junior College (YJC) 43-35 to also record a 3-1 record.

In Group D, SAJC finished top of the group with a perfect 4-0 record after beating Anderson Junior College 47-22. It was a game AJC needed to win to qualify for Round 2 but their 29-30 loss to Temasek Junior College in an earlier game meant that it was TJC (3-1) who qualified for Round 2 as the runners-up in the group.

Anglo-Chinese Junior College topped Group B with a perfect 3-0 record having beaten Meridian Junior College, Anglo-Chinese School (Independent) and Nanyang Junior College (NYJC). NYJC alone managed to score more than 20 goals against ACJC in their 23-59 defeat and they enter Round 2 and Group B runners-up.

Raffles Institution (RI) qualified for Round 2 as Group A winners with a perfect 4-0 record. River Valley High were second with a 3-1 record, their sole loss coming in a 24-70 defeat by RI.
