Choa Chu Kang Stadium, Tuesday, April 3, 2012 — Shashi Hazra of Raffles Institution jumped 6.78 metres to capture gold in the A Division Boys’ Long Jump at the 53rd National Schools Track and Field Championships.

The Championship record is 7.07m and was set by Wang Kan, then of Raffles Junior College, in 2006.

Darren Koh, also of RI, was second with a 6.50m effort while Lemuel Low of Hwa Chong Institution grabbed third with a 6.47m jump.

RI and HCI both had three jumpers in the top eight. All three jumpers from Victoria Junior College did not qualify for the final round.
