53rd national schools track and field championship

Choa Chu Kang Stadium, Wednesday, April 4, 2012 — Jannah Wong of CHIJ Katong Convent won the B Division 100m Hurdles in a time of 14.93 seconds at the 53rd National Schools Track and Field Championships.

Jannah had set a new championship record of 14.83s in the heats a day earlier. Jannah herself set the previous record of 14.85 in 2011.

After setting the record on Tuesday, April 3rd, she sprained her ankle at Choa Chu Kang Stadium and needed treatment that evening, said her father, William Wong.

Kerstin Ong of Singapore Sports School was second in 15.97s while Sharlene Teo of Nanyang Girls’ High was third in 16.22.

Jannah also qualified for the B Division Girls’ 100m final. She clocked 12.71 in the semi-final, the third fastest time.
