Choa Chu Kang Stadium, Thursday, March 29, 2012 — Catholic High’s Brian See, 16, registered a personal best of 45.55m when he won his third straight Discus gold medal at the 53rd National Schools’ Track and Field Championships.

The B Division championship record is 48.70m and it was set in 2006 by Scott Wong, then of Hwa Chong Institution.

Brian, who also won the B Division title last year, also bettered the 45.06m qualifying mark for next month’s South-east Asian (SEA) Youth Championships which will be held in Singapore.

Brian’s previous personal best was 42.31m set at last year’s National Schools.

The thrower said the major events on his radar this year are the SEA Youth Championships in April and the Jakarta ASEAN School Games in June.

Brian trumped the B Division competition by nearly eight metres. Mitch Lim of Hwa Chong Institution (HCI) finished second with a 37.63m effort while Daniel Boey of Raffles Institution was just 0.06m behind in third.
