Jalan Besar Stadium, Sunday, January 8, 2012 — The last tickets for the Singapore LionsXII vs Kelantan match were sold at 4:20pm this afternoon.

Mohd Hafiz, 22, and Syafiq, 21, managed to buy the last three tickets for the January 10th match at the 7,500-seater Jalan Besar Stadium. Each buyer was restricted to four tickets and only Singaporean citizens and permanent residents could buy the tickets before match day.

On hand to meet the two buyers were LionsXII captain Shahril Ishak and his vice-captain Hariss Harun who presented them with their goodie bags and tickets.

“Yes, initially we planned to buy three tickets but then, we decided to buy eight for other friends too when we got here. So it’s just going to be me, Syafiq and the other friend of ours who was more interested to watch the LionsXII …. I guess it’s too bad for our five other friends who were half-hearted about attending the match,” said Hafiz with a chuckle.

Added Syafiq: “We are not going to tell any of our friends or family about us getting the last tickets for the match, [that we] got greeted by Hariss and Shahril and that we got interviewed by the press. I would like for them to find out on their own.”

Both predicted a 2-0 win for LionsXII and Shahril and Fazli Ayob to score the goals.
