Nanyang Polytechnic, Wednesday, September 28, 2011 — Kang Rui Jie and Rachel Lee won the Overall Best School Boy and Girl Awards respectively for 2011. The awards were given out at the 41st Singapore Schools Sports Council (SSSC) National Colours Award Presentation.

Kang Rui Jie won silver and team gold medals at the 2011 3rd Commonwealth Taekwondo Championships while sailor Rachel Lee had won a gold medal at the 2010 Asian Games.

Rui Jie and Rachel were chosen from the 43 students from 25 sports who also won the Best School Boy and Best School Girl awards in their respective sports. The awards were given to students based on their sporting achievements as well as their conduct on and off the field.

207 students won the National Schools Colours Award for representing Singapore Schools at the ASEAN Schools Games (ASG).

Over 600 students from 100 schools also won National Schools Colours while 1,400 won Zone Colours.
