Singapore Sports School, Friday, August 20, 2010 — None of Singapore’s swimmers qualified for the evening finals on the morning heats of the final day of swimming at the Youth Olympic Games.

50 metres Backstroke silver medallist Rainer Ng finished 11th overall in the men’s 200m Backstroke with a time of 2 minutes 6.74 seconds.

Cheryl Lim swam the women’s 200m Breaststroke in 2:40.23, clocking the 14th best time.

Chriselle Koh was ranked 22nd in the women’s 400m Freestyle after turning in a time of 4:34.28.

In the final heat of the morning session, the quartet of Rainer, Cheryl, Pang Sheng Jun and Adeline Winata was 12th overall in the mixed 4 x 100m Medley relay. They clocked a collective time of 4:08.94, with Sheng Jun standing out with his 55.99-second butterfly split, as well as Rainer’s sixth sub-58s 100m backstroke of the year alone.

Amanda Lim will be Singapore’s only swimmer in the evening session. She will swim in the women’s 50m Freestyle final, at 6.33pm.
