Even Burnley manager Brian Laws gave a glowing assessment of them during the post-match press conference.

“All of them played really well. I can’t point out an individual,” he said when quizzed about which Singapore player caught his eye. “I felt they were all alert and have good understanding with each other. At times, they really troubled us. Coach Raddy got it absolutely spot-on in the pre-match where he said it was the toughest test. These guys have a bright future, especially one or two of them who can really handle the pressure and their football.”

Coach Raddy revealed at the end of the press conference that he will still be looking to give four to five other players chances to get into the Asian Games squad with two upcoming tournaments in Vietnam and Thailand for preparation. With slightly less than four months before the Games, the Singapore football team look a strong contender to do well in the competition.
