Catholic High School vs East View SS

Despite having no Coach and teacher-in-charge,leaving only an assistant coach to guide the team, Catholic High still maintained its team spirit to start their Youth Cup campaign with a 66-53 win over East View SS.

The match started with Catholic High #5 scoring the first basket. Although Catholic High took awhile to get warmed up for the game, it still went well for them and they ended the 1st quarter with a 15-13 lead.

In the 2nd quarter, East View SS showed their true colours with #6 scoring nine points in that quarter. They started to press Catholic High by playing man-on-man full court defence. The players from Catholic High panicked and allowed East View to intercept and go on fast breaks. The quarter ended with East View pulling ahead to lead 35-23.

In the 3rd quarter, East View continued their strong full-court man-to-man defence which helped them to get some fast breaks. Catholic High continued to panic but in the end found ways to overcome the full-court press to score a total of 16 points in the quarter. However, Catholic High were still unable to catch up with East View who lead by eight points.

In the 4th quarter, Catholic High switched their tactics and targeted the key players of East View, putting on a man-to-man defence, hoping to pressure them.True enough, East View had a very hard time trying to get pass their opponents. Catholic High received many chances to go for fast break as a result of its strong defence. For the 4th quarter, Catholic High managed to overcome East View by outscoring them 27-6.
