Red Sports: How long have you played basketball for your school?
Kong Tat: I represented Pei Hwa Presbyterian Primary School for two years and Catholic High for the last two years.

Red Sports: What is your most memorable, happiest moment playing for your school?
Kong Tat: My happiest moment would be this year’s National semifinal match against Jurong because that was my best match of the season. It my most memorable match because everything was going my way, like all the shots I made were going in.

Red Sports: What was the hardest game for Catholic High this season?
Kong Tat: The hardest game for Catholic High would be the National Final against Presbyterian High. Jabez, Dominic and I were not really performing but luckily Benny performed really well. I believe that he was why we won that match.

Red Sports: What is your favourite shot or team tactic?
Kong Tat: I don’t have any favourite shots but my favourite team tactic would be our 2-3 zone defence.

Red Sports: How did you get started with basketball?
Kong Tat: I started by getting selected during the basketball trials when I was in Primary 4, along with Dominic Lim and Tay Ee Shen who are still playing on the same team as me now.

Red Sports: Who’s the greatest influence on your basketball game?
Kong Tat: The person who influences me in basketball most would be Dominic Lim, my teammate. I have been playing with him ever since I started out in basketball. We give each other tips on how to improve and I think we have great chemistry.

Red Sports: What’s the most difficult thing you had to cope with this year?
Kong Tat: The pressure of coping with studies in spite of the busy training schedule.

Red Sports: Any advice to the juniors who are trying to break into the school team next year?
Kong Tat: Try not to “pon” too much training.

Red Sports: Are you hoping to play on in the ‘B’ Division?
Kong Tat: Yes I am.

Red Sports: Why do you like basketball so much and not other sports?
Actually I don’t mind other sports but I find most pleasure in basketball.
